The Full Moon peaks Monday, October 6 ~ strong from Oct 5 to Oct 7. Below, you'll find depth-psychological reflections and medical-astrology care, so you can work with this moon in a grounded way.
Timing note. The Full Harvest Moon peaks in Aries on Monday, October 6, 2025 at about 8:48 / 11:48 p.m. Pacific/Eastern. 14 degrees Aries. Many sky guides also classify it as a supermoon this year.
Aries, cardinal fire, governed by Mars
Libra, Cardinal air, governed by Venus (or some like me toss Earth in there, story for another day)
The Aries-Libra axis calls for a clear conversation between the self and others. Aries is the spark of initiative, the heat of instinct, what we bring our awareness to, and from which we tend to build our identity. It’s a first step in the individuation process (which isn’t always linear), getting curious. Think of the Emperor archetype in tarot: will, initiation, and protective authority. The emperor sits on a throne, which is the seat of self, the foundation of our identity. Fear often drives decisions, but a good emperor stays open to their own inner spark. While they may be driven by outward intrigues, that is just kindling for going inward. What you are drawn to, how to present yourself, they all speak deeply of your authentic soul. Just make sure it’s not kindling from someone else’s pile. If you take from others, you’ll never know how to create your own fire, and eventually the spark of the heart will fade. Others can influence us, as we see in Libra, the opposite sign of Aries, but you must ask what it is you’re drawn to rather than just taking. An emperor who rules well finds power within, so they don't have to find power over (which we see in most “emperors of today's political world). Aries allows us to grow anew from the compost of the past cycle, and this moon can be a big release and step onto a new path, if you allow it.
Libra is the field of relation and repair. While we are in Libra season, it’s a great time to see others as a mirror and reflect on your most trusted and intimate relationships to gain more insight into your inner world. How do you show up in relationship is very telling. Libra, the Justice archetype. Balance, truth, proportion. The scales weigh consequence, but can only do so by allowing each side an equal playing field and a moment to find stillness. Justice is not punishment; it is alignment with what is fair and true. They are aligned to the compass you begin building with Aries, as you gain clarity and hone your truth. Now we must step back and see what parts of our life are still in right relationship, in harmony with our values and with our path.
A one-voice psyche drifts toward monoculture, and the symbolic life dries out. A polyphonic psyche makes room for many inner figures; that interior plurality can give rise to outer solidarity. So, stay curious. What do you wish for others that you could use a bit of exploration for yourself? What do you blame on others that could be shifted first within? Where do you envy others, envy that points towards your own heart’s desire? Where do you admire others that may already be a strength you just need to hone or honor in yourself? etc etc etc. This Full Moon is a moment to honor both the courageous 'I' and the listening “We”.
The inner weather
Aries brings heat and impulse to the surface; Libra invites proportion. Expect bright edges, quickening, and the urge to act, paired with a counterpull toward balance. Let the courageous I choose one clear task, and let the listening We set the terms of how it unfolds.
Notice where energy rushes to the head and jaw. Lengthen the exhale, soften the tongue, feel weight in the feet and low back. Give the fire a vessel: one decision you can keep, one boundary that protects relation. Aim for the right relation over victory, and clarity over speed. Move as if carrying a small flame in a steady bowl.
Allow your senses to provide information from the outside world that can inform your inside world. The head, the Aries region, receives a vast amount of sensory input, including sight, smell, taste, and hearing, yet is often attributed solely to the thinking brain. The brain does more than think; it helps us process all the senses we gather from the body. The body knows before the brain, which we are only beginning to understand. So, try to make emperor-like decisions using all the tools, not just the first thoughts, especially if driven by quick, anxious feelings.
Questions for the altar
Where am I called to act, and where am I called to listen?
What does my curiosity want to explore? Where and with who does it expand? Where and with who does it go cold and dim?
And of course, anything that came up from the words above. Bring ‘em. Sit with them.
A small ritual
Full moons are for release, illumination, and extroversion. What in your inner world is ready to move outward? What came up with the questions above? Write this down and set it on fire safely. Use the spark to feel the release of what no longer serves.
Traditional correspondences
In medical astrology, Aries is linked with the head, face, and arterial flow. Around the Full Moon, tend the headspace and circulation, and cool excess heat if you notice it affecting you poorly. I love betony (Betonica officinalis) & rose to bring the energy downward.
Supportive care ideas
Libra is Venus-ruled and traditionally linked with balance in the body: kidneys and urinary tract, the lumbar region and lower back, fluid and mineral equilibrium, and the harmonizing tone of skin and veins. Think filtration, fairness, and finesse.
Magnesium soak for nervous-system calm and muscle ease
Steady hydration and mineral support for mood and circulation
Cooling face mists over head, neck, and face; tulsi hydrosol can be clarifying and centering
Gentle movement and breath to move heat without strain
Proprioception exercises that focus on balance and equanimity.
